Papa John’s Pizza
Opened by John Schnatter in a broom closet in the back of his father’s tavern in 1983 — and with funding from the sale of his 1971 Camaro — the pizza giant today has grown to more than 4,600 locations in 34 countries. That growth has allowed Schnatter, among other things, to buy back that iconic Camaro that gave him his start. For those Papa John’s fans who like to play with their food — the brand was transformed into a board game called Papa-Opoly for its 30th birthday. Based on the classic Monopoly board game, Papa-Opoly allows players to move around the board in the traditional manner, using your Papa John’s dollars to purchase properties like Anchovy Avenue, Provolone Place and Beef Bypass, drawing Better Ingredients and Better Pizza cards along the way, and building houses and hotels.
