The Elephant Bar

The Elephant Bar

With its globally influenced menu and African decor, the Elephant Bar was founded in 1980 by David Nancarrow and his son, Chris. The first restaurant was opened in Lubbock, Texas. The casual-dining chain is designed to reflect an African safari theme, highlighted by zebra-striped ceilings, leopard-print carpets and, shown here, a door handle in the shape of an elephant’s head. The menu boasts an even broader culinary palette, with such dishes as Mongolian Beef, Home-Style Pot Roast, Chicken Marsala, Kung Pao Shrimp and Blackened Mahi-Mahi. The Elephant Bar has 29 locations, most located in California.
